Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Nintendo Switch OLED is Beautiful, Coming Nov. 4

a new trailer for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet focused on games’ “treasure hunt” elements on Wednesday, and a real-life treasure was revealed as well: the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Edition Switch OLED model. The colorful console will be available from Nov. 4, two weeks before the games land on Nov. 18.

It’ll set you back $360, which is slightly more expensive than the $350 standard OLED — just like the Splatoon 3 console that came out last month. The OLED model is the most recent Switch hardware revision, and has a larger, brighter screen than the regular Switch.

The Scarlet and Violet console doesn’t include the games, so you’ll have to buy them separately.

The Scarlet and Violet Switch includes a white dock featuring legendaries Koraidon and Miraidon (who appear on Scarlet and Violet game versions’ respective box art) on the front and a Poke Ball-inspired design on the back. The Joy-Cons match the games’ colors, and feature the school emblems of their Naranja and Uva Academies.

The back of the Switch itself is adorned with images of new starters Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly, along with various symbols from the games.

The Pokemon Company has been teasing us with details about Scarlet and Violet since the games — the ninth generation in the mainline RPG series — were revealed in February. Last week brought a look at poison type Grafaiaiwhile ridable dragon Cyclizar was shown during August’s 2022 Pokemon World Championships.

Everyone who purchases Scarlet and Violet before Feb. 28, 2023 will receive a special bonus Pikachu at their game.
