If you’ve been thinking about buying Far Cry 6 or just looking for a new game to try this weekend, the sixth installment in the popular first-person shooter series is free-to-play until tomorrow. The full game will be free to download and play on Ubisoft’s Uplay platform and the Epic Games Store until 12 pm PDT which gives you a little over 24 hours to run around and fight across the fictional Caribbean island of Yara.
Like other games in the Far Cry series, Far Cry 6 is set in an open-world sandbox environment which players can explore on foot or using a variety of land, air, and water vehicles. They’ll take on the role of a guerilla fighter working to topple the dictatorial regime of the “El Presidente” portrayed by Emmy Award nominee Giancarlo Esposito. The game also offers a co-op mode for those who want to work together to overthrow the dictator or take on your buddy in the iconic cockfighting mini-game.
If you enjoyed the game, you can grab a copy at 60% off on Epic Games Store until August 8th and Uplay until August 16th. Any progress earned during the free-play event will carry over to the full game.
